College Hill Elementary School is one of seven schools in the district that was awarded a grant through the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program for the 2011-12 school year. We will receive $19,350 that we can use throughout the year to provide all students with a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.

One of the goals of this grant is to create healthier school environments by providing healthier food choices. We also hope to expand the variety of fruits and vegetables that our students experience as well as increase their fruit and vegetable consumption. Finally, we hope that through this grant, we can help to make a difference in our student’s diets which will impact their present and future health. By exposing them to a wide variety of fruits and veggies, we are helping them to see that there are many different choices of fresh fruits and vegetables they can eat.

Each week one fruit and one vegetable will be prepared and served to all students at College Hill. Below is the schedule for the month of November:
