Last week all the students needed to do for homework was have their parents sign the class discipline plan and return it. This week they will start on sentences and a math D.I.T.B. It is due on Friday.

          Writing

The students will be completing their final copy of the compare and contrast paper of Double Stuff Oreos to the Original Oreos. Some of the students have chosen to type their final copy.

Fractions: Students will compare and order fractions using concrete objects to:

Students will use Hershey candy bars and colored marshmallows to learn about fractions.

Third and fourth grade students have been working on their rough draft of the writing DCA. We will complete the final copy this week.

State Math Assessments are from April 7-11^th. We will spend this time reviewing previously covered concepts to prepare us for the test. Extra practice of computation skills at home would also be helpful.

Third and fourth grade students will be writing a compare and contrast paper on Oreo cookies. As you know, there are several varieties of Oreos available.

Students are exploring ways of measuring. We will be using standard and nonstandard units to measure with. Students will be compiling, organizing, and analyzing data involving length.

I will be combining the 3^rd and 4^th grade IR students together to prepare for the reading state assessments this March. We take the quiz by paper/pencil and then take it again with clickers. We will be working on narrative text for a couple of weeks.
