Dear Mom and Dad,

We have a wonderland of Wednesday Word Wizards in Room 19!! Wow! Congratulations to Eliott, Sam, Hope, Noah, Averie, Kayleigh and Belle. Some of us have papers that need to be signed and returned tomorrow. Mrs. Read wants to make sure you are aware of how I’m doing.

Next weeks words will be: ordinal, digit and pattern.

Following the vocabulary test, we did our estimation jar. First, I made a guess about how many cubes were in the jar. Then, Mrs. Read gave me a frame of reference—a jar that had 10 cubes (and was about half full.) That helped me refine my guess, and I made a final prediction or estimate.

This afternoon during reading we learned about biographies, ask me what a biography is. Mrs. Sanborn read a story about Alexander Graham Bell. Ask me what he invented (the telephone).

During word building we made words with the short i sound. We made rhyming words with "it". At the end of the day Mrs. Konecny, our school counselor, did a lesson on school behavior and we discussed feelings. Ask me what we talked about.

Just a reminder: Entertainment Books are due this Friday. I must either return the book, or the money for it.
